Our Team

Finding the right therapist is an important part of beginning therapy.

The Calm Mind Counseling Center team includes clinicians with a wide range of backgrounds, specialties, and therapeutic approaches. We provide compassionate, individualized care for children, adolescents, teens, adults and couples at our Forest Park and Willowbrook offices and through telehealth across Illinois.

Suzanne Muirheid, LCPC, CADC, CCTP-II

​She/Her

​Leadership: Founder and Practice Director 

EMDR Status: EMDRIA Approved Consultant 

Populations: Adults 

Suzanne works primarily with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociation, addiction-related concerns, difficult relationships, and other painful life experiences. Her trauma-informed approach integrates EMDR, Ego State and parts work, somatic exploration, and attachment-based therapy.

Abigail Slager, LCSW, PMH-C, CCTP-II

She/Her

Leadership: Clinical Supervisor 

EMDR Status: EMDR Trained 

Populations: Adults 

Abby works with adults navigating complex trauma, anxiety, attachment and relationship wounds, grief, life transitions, identity exploration, and perinatal mental-health concerns. Her relational approach incorporates nervous-system awareness, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic practices.

Jeana Frazier, LCPC, CCTP, CGP

She/Her

EMDR Status: EMDR Trained 

Populations: Adolescents, Adults 

Jeana supports clients experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, difficult transitions, relationship concerns, and challenges involving identity or self-confidence. Her work is person-centered, relational, mindfulness-based, and informed by EMDR and other trauma-focused approaches.

Dominque Murrell, LCPC

She/Her

EMDR Status: EMDR Trained 

Populations: Children, Adolescents, Teens, Adults 

Dominque works with children, teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, cognitive or developmental concerns, life transitions, and the effects of trauma. She uses a collaborative approach informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered therapy, and EMDR.

She/Her

EMDR Status: EMDR Trained 

Populations: Adults, Couples 

Samantha works primarily with adults experiencing relationship and attachment concerns, anxiety, adult ADHD, grief, trauma, family conflict, and life transitions. Her eclectic approach combines insight, practical coping strategies, trauma-informed care, somatic therapy, and EMDR.

Phil Doherty, LPC, CSTFP

Populations: Children, Adolescents, Teens, Adults, Couples 

Phil works with children, adolescents, adults and couples, with a particular focus on trauma, attachment, relationships, and children’s mental health. His integrative approach includes EMDR, Play Therapy, Gottman Method couples therapy, somatic therapy, and attachment-based care.

Populations: Adults 

Meeae supports adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, identity concerns, and major life transitions. Her culturally inclusive and person-centered approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and EMDR.

Tracy Dorencz, LPC 

She/Her â€‹

EMDR Status: EMDR Trained 

Populations: Adults 

Tracy works with teens and adults navigating complex trauma, addiction recovery, codependency, relationship patterns, shame, boundaries, and identity exploration. Her approach draws from Internal Family Systems, inner-child work, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, and EMDR. â€‹

Tracy provides therapy in English and Spanish.

Therese Clucas, LPC

Populations: Adolescents, Teens, Adults 

Therese works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, addiction, codependency, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Her flexible and supportive approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, psychodynamic and Adlerian perspectives, and DBT-informed skills.

Dema works with young adults through older adults navigating anxiety, trauma, mood concerns, relationship difficulties, and major periods of adjustment. Her warm, client-centered approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and EMDR.

Noah works with children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families. He supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, difficult transitions, and family or relationship challenges using a strengths-based, systemic, and trauma-informed approach.

Kurtis works primarily with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, peer and relationship concerns, trauma, depression, identity development, and increasing independence. His approach includes person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, narrative techniques, and psychoeducation.

Her integrative approach combines psychodynamic, somatic, attachment-based, and mindfulness-oriented therapy.
